What is Counselling?
Essentially counselling is a unique type of relationship between the client and therapist which can be helpful in exploring the 'stuck' or painful areas of a person's life. There are no miracle cures in therapy but, as the work and the therapeutic relationship progresses, I find many clients gain a greater perspective on their problems, whatever their nature, and as a result are more likely to move on from them.
The process itself is gentle and accommodating and moves forward at a pace that you, the client, decides. In the journey we make together particularly painful or awkward subjects are broached only when you are ready to do so.
Counselling is effective for problems that are specific or general, short or long term. All are explored in complete confidentiality within a safe environment.
